Philippine government bans documentary about ex-president

Lawyers for deposed Philippine president Joseph Estrada are appealing a censors board decision that gave a documentary on his life a triple-X rating, effectively denying the work the right to be circulated, aired, or exhibited in theaters. Critics say the government is violating principles of free expression. The chair of the censors and ratings board says “the film threatens the political stability of the state”.
